Marshall Municipal Utilities offers a variety of rebate program options to help our business customers increase their energy efficiency. Some rebate programs are offered locally through MMU and some programs are offered in partnership with our wholesale power provider, Missouri River Energy Services (MRES).
Our Commercial Rebate programs offered in partnership with MRES are marketed under the Bright Energy Solutions banner and offer incentives for nearly all types of business energy efficiency improvements.

Marshall Municipal Utilities Bright Energy Solutions Lighting Rebate Program is offered in Partnership with Missouri River Energy Services to promote the use of high-efficiency lighting.
Lighting can account for up to 50% of an average commercial utility bill. Upgrading your facility with new high efficient lighting can increase employee productivity and significantly reduce your energy consumption.
Rebates are available to commercial and industrial customers of MMU for qualifying lighting retrofits or new construction. All products must be installed in facilities in MMU's service territory and must operate a minimum 1,800 hours per year.

Rebates may also be available for the installation of energy efficient LED exterior lighting in new construction or the replacement of existing high pressure sodium, metal halide, or incandescent lighting. Marshall Municipal Utilities offers rebates towards the purchase of new ENERGY STAR® qualified central air conditioners when installed with MMU's Load Management receiver (ELF).
ENERGY STAR qualified central air conditioners have a higher Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio 2 (SEER2) than standard models, which make them about 8% more efficient. Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio 2 (SEER2) is a measure of equipment energy efficiency over the cooling season. It represents the total cooling of a central air-conditioner during the normal cooling season compared to the total electric energy input (in watt-hours) consumed during the same period.
ENERGY STAR® qualified models with a SEER2 rating of 15.2 or greater are eligible for a $100 per ton rebate.
Marshall Municipal Utilities also offers Rebates towards the purchase of new high efficiency geothermal or qualifying air source heat pump heating and cooling systems.
Ground source heat pumps are eligible for a $200 per ton rebate.
ENERGY STAR® qualified Air Source heat pumps with a SEER2 rating of 15.2 or greater are eligible for a $150 per ton rebate.

Marshall Municipal Utilities also offers additional heating and cooling rebates available through our Bright Energy Solutions Heating and Cooling Rebate Program in Partnership with Missouri River Energy Services. Marshall Municipal Utilities Bright Energy Solutions Pumps and VFD Rebate Program is offered in Partnership with Missouri River Energy Services. Our Pumps and VFD Rebate Program provides generous incentives to commercial and industrial customers towards the installation of high efficiency pumps and variable frequency drives (VFD's) on HVAC fans, HVAC pumps, and process pumps. Marshall Municipal Utilities Bright Energy Solutions Custom Rebate Program is offered in Partnership with Missouri River Energy Services. Our Custom Rebate Program is designed to assist commercial and industrial customers in developing innovative, energy efficient measures not covered under our other rebate programs. Typical projects include compressed air systems, ice storage systems, refrigeration systems, chillers, and process improvements. All projects must be pre-approved by MMU to be eligible for a rebate. Rebate amount is based on $300 per KW average demand reduction during the months of June-September. The incentive is limited to 75% of the incremental cost of the measure.

Our Compressed Air Rebate Program provides generous incentives to commercial and industrial customers towards the installation of qualifying high efficiency air compressors, no loss air drains, mist eliminators, dew point demand controls, cycling refrigerated dryers, compressed air storage, engineered nozzles, pressure flow controllers, and air leak surveys. Our Food Service Rebate Program provides generous incentives to commercial and industrial customers towards the installation of qualifying ENERGY STAR® certified and high efficiency food service equipment. Items include qualifying commercial ice machines, fryers, electric griddles, electric steam cookers, electric food holding cabinets, electric convection ovens and oven/steamers, hood control packages, dishwashers, and ECM or Q-Sync motors for walk-in coolers or freezers, compressors and condensers.
