MMU Load Management System Replacement Project Started

The replacement of Marshall Municipal Utilities (MMU) existing load management system (LM) has begun. Allegiant Utility Services, MMU’s authorized contractor, and their subcontractor, Kemp Electric, began replacing our existing load control receivers (LCRs) on May 19th and will continue replacement of LCR’s throughout the Summer until completion. Allegiant vehicles will be identified with Kemp Electric and MMU identification logos and personnel will also have proper identification.

MMU customers that currently have existing load management equipment will be contacted via a letter from MMU and Allegiant Utility Services to set up an appointment for replacement prior to installation in your area. This upgrade is at no cost to the customer and is expected to take 15-30 minutes to complete.

MMU is also encouraging customers who are not participating to consider signing up for the program. There is no cost to enroll, and customers also receive monthly credits for participating. The more participants we have in the program, the more effective MMU can be in reducing peak demand and keeping our electricity rates as low as possible.
