Marshall Municipal Utilities (MMU) is proud to partner with The Salvation Army HeatShare Program in helping local families with heating assistance during the winter season.

What is HeatShare?

HeatShare is a voluntary, non-governmental utility assistance program administered through The Salvation Army. HeatShare has been providing energy assistance to the elderly, disabled, and low-income people since 1982. HeatShare relies on tax-deductible donations from utility customers to help those in need. Funds contributed through this program are collected by MMU and administered by The Salvation Army to people in our service area.

HeatShare provides funds for heating bills and heating-related repairs for eligible people:

    • Senior citizens 55 years of age or older with low, fixed incomes and no alternative source of help
    • Disabled persons whose physical capabilities or health problems limit their income
    • Persons who meet income guidelines and have received or applied for all other possible public funds
  • Persons who have had an unexpected emergency within the last 12 months and as a result cannot pay their bills.

For more information on how to contribute to HeatShare, please call MMU at (507) 537-7005 or Click here to download a contribution form.
