Marshall Municipal Utilities is governed by a five member utility commission. Commission members are appointed by the Mayor, and such appointments confirmed by the Marshall City Council. Each commissioner may serve up to two consecutive five year terms.

MMU Commission meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month beginning at 4:30 p.m. and are open to the public.
